Today, I want to say thank you to my friends who gave me the gift of happiness…you are the gardeners of my heart…

My day is just beginning in Vancouver and there is sunshine. I’m heading out for a walk to “catch” a few rays – I’ll be passing by a couple of gardens along the way. Thank you for your lovely thoughts.

Those of us who have the unique privilege of having a good rewarding life-long friend are blest indeed! Friendship is unique in that it can be many things, smothering, demanding, unrewarding, etc. so when does friendship cease to be friendship? Can we contribute to a friendship that seems to be less than desirable? Each of us have to make that decision. We make the mistake, often I think, that a friendship has to be long enduring to be good. How about a friendly smile to a stranger, a few words to a disabled person, and encouraging word to a struggling person of age? Could that be exercising friendship?

Absolutely!! Sometimes I think that we try too hard to define friendship, when all we need to do is to act with kindness and compassion.
