First rule – travel light.

  1. This is well said. I guess one way or the other this should be the code of life. In my view selfishness hinders the most. I remember I used to tell only one thing to my subordinate officers ” A man can do great things only if he does not care who gets the credit” Me personally I am always for silent look out for these kind of people for my team. I believe in “we” rather than “I”
    Stay blessed.

    • Well said – I agree wholehearted!! When I think back, it was always “we” that made a difference – together is a strong and compassion voice!!

  2. This is a great one, thank you. It applies literally too. I travel a lot with my job – how many times have I packed too much, making me grumpy, selfish etc on my trip. I work hard these days to take as little as possible – almost relishing the challenge (and the potential danger!) of not having the right things with me. It’s so much easier – and I had not really realised until reading your quote how beneficial this has been on the mind as well as the muscles!!

      • Thank you, and yes music is a great accompaniment. As are audio books, which we have mentioned in the past. William Boyd’s Restless, Stephen King’s 22.11.63 and Tom Robb Smith’s Child 44 have all been excellent stories.

  3. What more can be said for all the great comments. Music, books, and other social media can fill our minds with so many good things. Probably it would be good to take along a discerning spirit to see the needs around us, perhaps give a kind touch or loving word to someone who might need just that.

    • We forget that a smile and kind word may change the world…even in a small way. And when added with other deeds of kindness…it becomes a strong force for good!
