Back Home…

I have read many books that promise to reduce the cost of travel, yet I confess that I have never completely mastered the frugal concepts brought forth in these self-help books.  There is always a crisis, at the last minute to shred my budget. All is not lost! There is good news – travel is not limited to distance. Coming home is just the beginning of reconnecting with your own country.

“The whole object of travel is not to set foot on foreign land; it is at last to set foot on one’s own country as a foreign land.”
Gilbert K. Chesterton

  1. Beautiful photos. Our respective homelands are indeed beautiful, every bit as awesome as the places we have travelled to. I love travelling, but I also love to return home. Home is where the heart is, and mine is here in Wales, but I have stored up some wonderful memories in my heart of the awesome places I have been blessed to experience. Thank you.

    1. I have never been to Wales – it is on my bucket list at the very, very top. I was reading up on Anthony Hopkins, one of my favourites, and found out he comes from Wales. In fact, I found this direct quote: “I would like to go back to Wales. I’m obsessed with my childhood and at least three times a week dream I am back there.” What an excellent recommendation!!!

  2. Your photos are more than outstanding. We live in an extraordinary place. People come from all over the world to see, explore and enjoy our wonderful place. We need to schedule trips or take the many tours available right here in our own backyard. Perhaps, like Chesterton suggests we need to view our place like a foreign country. Would that help us appreciate all we have?
