Singing is Universal …

When a child sings, we listen.  We are awed by the purity and joy captured within the soft tune created by a young voice reaching out to their world. Our hearts respond, without reservation, for we recognize it as our own.

Your post is promoting all sorts of thoughts today – the passing on of stories through singing in days before people could write; the singing of common songs in the most unlikely moments (eg soldiers on both sides in WWI singing Carols together during the so called Christmas truce). Yes, singing is indeed Universal.

    1. You are so right – it is all about story telling!! Remember in the “King’s Speech,” the King was instructed to sing, rather than speak. All the stuttering disappeared. Thank you so much for adding your wisdom. I look forward to every one of your visits.
