“Music can change the world because it can change people.”
Bono
“Music doesn’t lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music.”
Jimi Hendrix
I remember when Peter, Paul and Mary sang “Blowing in the Wind” at The Great March on Washington on Wednesday, August 28, 1963. It was the day Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his historic “I Have a Dream” speech standing in front of the Lincoln Memorial. The world moved forward that day. And we all remember the song…
Yes, how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky?
Yes, how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
Yes, how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer my friend is blowin’ in the wind
The answer is blowin’ in the wind.
I never realized just how profound these lyrics really are… Something to definitely think about… Thanks!

It was a profound time in history. Thanks to Bob Dylan for writing it and these three for singing! http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=CA&v=3t4g_1VoGw4

I know someone who walked the march with his whole family that day – the best in his life. But you didn’t need to be there to feel the change. We still feel it many years later. It is a reminder of Gandhi and the Salt March, also known as the Salt Satyagraha, which began with the Dandi March on March 12, 1930.
