Singing – The Last Song

When the skein of life comes to an end, we will sing for the last time. Living now, fully and completely in the present, will strengthen our resolve and sweeten the notes so that our final song will be a benediction on a life well lived.

Yellow Flowers

“When your time comes to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way.  Sing your death song, and die like a hero going home.”

That is a lovely concept. Let’s live and sing and sing and live and then some.

I’m singing in the rain this morning! And maybe even taking a few dance steps as I head out for coffee. It is good to know that you will be singing with me today. Thank you!!!

Beautifully said – “weaving golden threads of song into a tapestry of everlasting joy…” Goosebumps!!! I have found that the older I get, the more full and glorious is my song. We have memories, friendships and experiences in which to bring out a dynamic resonance. I have always been fascinated by music that has a “call back.” That is what I felt when I read your thoughts.

  6. May our last days be filled with song. I remember that my husband of sixty years spent some of his last thoughts writing a poem and chosing the music for it. Happy memories!
