On the whole, we make an effort to live and work together in harmony. Most of us avoid conflict, especially with those with whom we are closely associated. We are conditioned to conduct ourselves within an established range of behaviours. Even so, we are taught to “dream big.” Sometimes these dreams may diverge with those in our well-meaning communities.
Dreams are never easy, yet they belong to us. Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley once said, “My dreams were all my own; I accounted for them to nobody; they were my refuge when annoyed – my dearest pleasure when free.”

We are dreaming big for our city but making the dreams a reality is not easy. It’s hard to keep everyone happy.

Dreams and reality must have a connecting mechanism. Somehow, “hard work,” “tenacity,” and “determination” have something to do with it. I agree wholeheartedly – it’s hard to keep everyone happy.

That’s so true that we are taught to both dream big and yet conform to “normal” dreams. Where would we be without the big dreams of non-comformists?

As I was reading your comments, I thought of Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Even today, her thoughts on women’s right would be considered radical to some people. You are so right – where would we be without our marvelously brave non-conformists?

I love the Carl Jung quote and the idea while our dreams are important, maybe they are just scratching the surface of where true introspection can lead. Thank you for encouraging a bit of deeper thought in my days filled with all things age 11 and under. And a side note, the photo is just beautiful.

I agree with you why do we do it we avoid conflict
specially with our families and to make them happy
but we are not happy, not following our true calling
our biggest dreams, yet we become conformists dreaming big.

Dreams–I hope we all have positive ones. Sometimes dreams have a way of growing or changing. Growing the dreams is good even re-adjusting the dreams may be good. Change is sometimes necessary.
