Happy Earth Day – Thank you!

Thank you!
Thank you!

Whenever I look at the world around me, I feel gratitude to those who share the wonder of our world and work together to preserve it for those who come after us.

Thank you!

    1. Dear Aquileana – your generation is leading the way in preserving our planet. I take great comfort that there are many others who share a determination to reduce our carbon footprint. Many hugs and love coming right back to you…

  1. Beautiful shapes, wondrous colours, intelligently suggestive, and questioning words, by Mr. Auden, and a wonderful gift from you Rebecca, to share this timely tableau!
Alas however, you will forgive me if I not allow my thoughts to wander beyond the beauty of these flowers in their present state, or to their eventual sleep in or beneath the snow. After all my delicious summer is so very short…

    1. I harken back to your words…

      “With any season
      Whatever changes
      Fits the reason,
      For nature’s purpose
      Be renewal,
      Thus so to celebrate
      Its cycle of survival,
      Thus so dictates
      That we endure,
      What time subjects
      Life’s actors,
      Thus so live
      suffer decrees
      Of nature’s fate,
      Should we survive
      A change of season!

This is the perfect poem for Earth Day – the renewal, the celebration, the survival. Ah, those are powerful words, my dear friend.

  2. I was sure you would post something today when I found this morning that today is Earth Day. You chose some very nice photos, they are so lovely and colorful. I am amused at W. H Auden’s quote–very tongue in cheek, I find. Of course, we should all be here on earth to love and help others! It is a great challenge, but I believe does give joy.

      1. And we agree wholeheartedly with you, dear Rebecca! Happy Earth Day!
Lovely quote from W.H. Auden. The great poet and Benjamin Britten went to Gresham’s School nearby us in Norfolk and we often visit the Auden theater. Small world, great words and you bring it together. 🙂
        Have a wonderful weekend,

      2. I was thinking of your especially today, Dina!! We may be on opposites sides of the world, but we are travelling the same pathway – and that gives me hope, courage and determination. Big hugs and lots of love to my dear Fab Four of Cley!! 🙂

  3. Your W. H. Auden quote made me laugh! 😀 Yes, I have wondered myself at times!

You have some gorgeous spring images too Rebecca! There’s something about spring that leaves me feeling I’ve just got to capture it. It always feels a very yellow season. 🙂

    1. Thank you for stopping by. I’ve been off the grid for a few days visiting family in Edmonton, Alberta. You would love that province – the sky is an amazing blue and the horizon goes on forever. We live in a beautiful world.
