Sunday Evening Reflection – Waiting

Winter has come and, with it the promise of long winter evenings of reading in the coming cold days of January and February.  I have a stack of books at the ready and have signed up to a competitive family book reading challenge that has set me on a course of discovery. Winter is a time of respite and renewal, waiting, preparing…

The soil appears to be dormant, but there is unseen activity happening in the depths of the earth in preparation for the coming of spring.  So it is with us.  May we “gather our life” in the same way as Nature and recognize the beauty of a winter landscape.

Join me as I look back on the late blooms of Autumn, just before Nature called her family together.

    1. My sister has started a podcast called “The Book Dialogue” which features our marvelous and competitive discussions about books, poetry, and more books. We have completed three podcasts so far and more are in the works. It’s going to be a great 2020.       4. So glad that you are joining the conversation. Sarah and I have had many reading adventures, beginning with Harlequin romances. Much to the horror of my father, my uncle, who had a book store, sent us 500 Harlequin Romance books via mail. It was a big package. I wish I had kept a couple of these books – they would be collector items now. They had names like “A Promise if for Keeping” and one of my favourites was about a young opera singer. Great times…Happy New Year. Here’s to more great times.

    1. Good morning from rainy Vancouver. We have entered our rainy season so there will be copious amounts of tea consumed in the coming months. There is magic in the mists that gather in the cedars, which reminds me that there is still fantasy left in our world. I enjoy stopping by your place to soak up the rays of the sun.   5. I was delighted when I finally was able to get into Word Press to see this really beautiful post. I love the flowers, I think I have see some of the same ones in this garden, so lovely really. Thank you for sharing, I love the music, too. Yes, I am looking forward to the family “book challenge”. Should be fun and educational.
