September is my favourite month. There is energy, freshness in the breeze as I walk on Vancouver’s famous Seawall. On a clear September morning, I can see the water touch the mountains.
“Men go back to the mountains, as they go back to sailing ships at sea, because in the mountains and on the sea they must face up.” Henry David Thoreau
An evening concert in the mountains – with children as musicians – still lingers softly in my mind many years later. When the instruments were put away, the earth continued to hum the musical refrain.
“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.”
― Friedrich Nietzsche
Sometimes I just need a little inspiration to get me going in the morning. And what better way to start than with Dr. Seuss. I’m heading out to climb my mountain…
“Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting. So…get on your way.”
