A Day of Peace – September 21, 2012

Standard

Each year, on September 21, the International Day of Peace is observed around the world.  We live in a global community that must come today to seek ways in which to build a future that is sustainable.  May we find ways to bring peace in our lives and share it with others…

If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.
Mother Teresa

“We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.”
Dalai Lama

Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.
Albert Einstein

Education & Experience

“Education is when you read the fine print.   Experience is what you get if your don’t”  Pete Seeger

Sometimes I have time to read the fine print and sometimes my only available option is to embrace experience as a teacher.

Pete Seeger used the power of song to inspire peace.  His protest music in support of international disarmament, civil rights and environmental causes continues to resonate in a new generation of peace seekers.
